Every planet delivers results through the houses it occupies and the houses it rules. When that planet's dasha begins, those houses and the areas of life they cover, such as career (10th), marriage (7th) or property (4th), come to the foreground.

Activated Houses = House Occupied by Dasha Lord + Houses Ruled by Dasha Lord (counted from Lagna) The House Dasha formula combines the house the dasha lord sits in with the one or two houses it rules, all counted from your Ascendant. Houses the lord aspects, and houses tied to its nakshatra lord, can be added as secondary influences. A Mahadasha lord ruling the 9th and 10th and sitting in the 11th, for instance, marks a period of fortune, career and gains.
