What Is Rashi Dasha Calculator?
Rashi Dasha is the general name for dasha systems that give periods to signs rather than planets. When a rashi's period runs, the house it occupies in your chart, the planets inside it and the signs aspecting it become the main drivers of events.
A Rashi Dasha Calculator applies the classical duration rules in full, including own-sign, exaltation, debilitation and the tricky dual-lord signs, which are where manual calculation most often goes wrong. The result is a clear sign-by-sign timeline that maps directly onto the houses of your chart.

Rashi Period = (Signs from Rashi to its Lord − 1), adjusted: Own Sign → 12 · Exalted → +1 · Debilitated → −1 The Rashi Dasha formula measures the distance from each sign to its ruling planet to set the base period, then adjusts it for the lord's dignity. For Scorpio and Aquarius, which each have two lords, the stronger lord is chosen first, so a small error in judging strength can change a whole period.

How the Rashi Dasha Calculator Works
The calculator counts from each sign to the sign holding its lord, subtracts one for the base period and adjusts for dignity: 12 years in own sign, one more if the lord is exalted, one less if debilitated. For Scorpio and Aquarius, it first chooses the stronger of their two lords.

Worked Example
For Leo with the Sun in Aries, count forward from Leo to Aries = 9 signs, minus 1 = 8 years, plus 1 for the Sun's exaltation in Aries = 9 years. For Cancer with the Moon in Cancer, the own-sign rule gives the full 12 years.

Each has two lords: Mars and Ketu for Scorpio, and Saturn and Rahu for Aquarius. The stronger lord, judged by rules such as conjunctions and sign strength, is used for the count.
What is the difference between Rashi Dasha and Graha Dasha?
Rashi Dasha gives periods to signs and reads events through houses. Graha Dasha, such as Vimshottari, gives periods to planets and reads events through planetary lords.
What are the limitations of Rashi Dasha?
