Chara Dasha Calculator Formula
Chara Dasha Years = Count from Sign to its Lord − 1 (Forward for Savya signs, Reverse for Apasavya signs) The Chara formula counts from each sign to the sign holding its ruling planet and subtracts one to give that period's length. The direction of the count is the key detail: in K.N. Rao's method, Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Libra, Scorpio and Sagittarius count forward, while the other six signs count in reverse.
