What Is Dasha Karaka Calculator?
In Jaimini astrology, each planet takes on a personal role, or Chara Karaka, based on how far it has travelled within its sign. The planet with the highest degree becomes the Atmakaraka (the soul), the next the Amatyakaraka (career), and so on down to the Darakaraka (spouse).
A Dasha Karaka Calculator links that ranking to your timeline. When a dasha lord is also your Atmakaraka, the period tends to be deeply personal and formative; when it is your Darakaraka, relationships often take centre stage. Knowing the karaka role adds a layer of meaning that the planet alone does not give.

Karaka Rank = Order of Planets by Degree within Sign (0°–30°), Highest = Atmakaraka The karaka formula ignores which sign a planet is in and compares only its degree within that sign. Planets are ranked from highest to lowest and assigned in turn as Atmakaraka, Amatyakaraka, Bhratrikaraka, Matrikaraka, Putrakaraka, Gnatikaraka and Darakaraka. The calculator then shows which of these roles your dasha lord holds.

Worked Example
Suppose Sun is at 27°12′, Saturn 25°02′, Mercury 22°31′, Jupiter 18°50′, Moon 14°05′, Venus 9°15′ and Mars 3°40′. The Sun becomes the Atmakaraka and Saturn the Amatyakaraka. A Saturn Mahadasha would then emphasise career and professional direction, and Mars, as Darakaraka, would link its periods with partnerships.
