What Is KP Dasha Calculator?
Krishnamurti Paddhati (KP), developed by K.S. Krishnamurti, keeps the Vimshottari dasha framework but reads it far more precisely. Each nakshatra is split into nine unequal "subs" in proportion to the Vimshottari years, which creates 249 sub-divisions across the zodiac, and the KP ayanamsa is used for all positions.

KP Dasha Calculator Formula
Sub Span = 13°20′ × (Sub Lord's Vimshottari Years ÷ 120) The KP formula divides every nakshatra among the nine planets in exact proportion to their Vimshottari years, so a Venus sub covers 2°13′20″ and a Sun sub only 40′. The dasha periods follow the same Vimshottari arithmetic, while the sub a planet occupies shows whether that planet's period can actually deliver a given result.

Worked Example
Ashwini (0°–13°20′ Aries) is ruled by Ketu, so its subs run Ketu 46′40″, Venus 2°13′20″, Sun 40′, Moon 1°06′40″, Mars 46′40″ and so on. A planet at 5°00′ Aries has Ketu as star lord and Mars as sub lord (4°46′40″–5°33′20″).
